LET’S GET STARTED

Thanks again

I am happy that you have decided to let me help you verify your Ikea layout plan and order list.

This is how it works

You will receive the first draft within five (5) business days, whereafter you can respond in writing with comments, wishes and required changes.

Based on your email, I will then respond to you with an updated layout.

The package includes three (3) revisions besides the first draft.

Additional revisions can be purchased separately if you require more.

After completion of the layout plan process, I will email you a document package containing the following:

  • Verified Layout Plan with Ready-to-Print designs of front view, interior front view, top view, and special notes, if applicable.
  • Verified Order List.
  • Panel Plan
  • Cabinet Power Supplies Location Plan (if applicable).
  • Island Support Brack Location Plan (if applicable).

First Things First

Getting to know you and your layout plan.

ABOUT YOU

ESSENTIAL MEASUREMENT

Identify and measure the "available ceiling height," i.e. the minimum distance from the finished floor to the ceiling, in the area where cabinets will be installed.

Start by choosing inches or centimetres, and additional information will be presented.

YOUR LAYOUT PLAN

YOUR CHOICES

The upcoming questions have two main objectives.

The first is to confirm your agreement with my "best practice" approach, and the second is to determine whether Ikea employees or the Online Planner automatically added certain elements in your layout to encourage additional purchases or if you deliberately chose these elements.

In other words, I want to make sure that I don't remove any items that you specifically asked to have added.

PANELS

The fridge panel (1), on the free side, and the panel next to the dishwasher (2), if it sits at the end of a row, always run to the floor. They must do that because they are supporting the fridge cabinet and countertop, respectively.

I would recommend the same for all panels on an island and peninsula, so unless you tell me differently (below), I will do that and where I see fit elsewhere.

GLASS SIDES IN DRAWERS

By default, the planner adds glass sides to the Maximera drawers where possible.

Most of my clients don't want them, but what about you?

Expect to pay CA$ 15 per drawer.

COUNTERTOPS

CABINET LIGHTS AND GLASS DOORS

APPLIANCES

Please measure the width and height precisely.

Go Green and save batteries

This is the third laser level I bought since I started to install kitchens, and hopefully, the last. It uses the same battery as my power tools and can run for a long time on a full charge.

This one has a green laser light, making it much easier to see the lines in broad daylight.

It is not a cheap tool, though, but I would have saved quite a bit of dollars if I had bought it, to begin with, instead of purchasing more affordable options twice.

Since I use the laser for a lot more than just checking ceilings and hanging rails, it has been money well spent for me.

Put it up and forget and forgt about it.

Before digging in and spending money on this pole, I clipped my (first) laser to a few suspension rails resting on something high in the corner of the room. Sounds time-consuming and complicated, right? Well, it was.

Also, I had to figure out an alternative way to position the level when installing the last suspension rail.

Now, with this pole, I put it up in a favourable position, and it just sits there during the entire installation, allowing me to move my level up or down with ease.
