Privacy Policy
Your Information, Kept Simple
What I collect, why I collect it, and what you can do about it.
Kitchens by Rannes is a one-person business, run by me, Lars Rannes, in Ontario, Canada. This page explains what personal information I collect on kitchensbyrannes.com, why, and what you can do about it. I don’t sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
What I collect and why
- When you buy something: your name, email, billing address and order details, so I can process your order, deliver your download or book your call, and keep records for taxes.
- When you contact me: your name, email and message (plus any photos you attach), so I can reply.
- When you leave a comment: the name and email you enter. Your comment and name are shown publicly; your email isn’t.
- If you join my email list: your email and name, so I can send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. I never see or store your full card details; they go directly to the payment provider.
Services I use
To run the site, some of your information is processed by these services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Stripe and PayPal: payments
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit): email list and order emails
- Google reCAPTCHA / Cloudflare Turnstile: spam protection on forms
- Akismet: spam filtering for comments
- YouTube: embedded videos, which may set YouTube cookies when you play them
Cookies
Cookies are small text files your browser stores when you visit a website. This is how kitchensbyrannes.com uses them:
- Essential: needed for the shopping cart, checkout and your account, and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
- Comments: remember your name and email if you leave a comment, so you don’t have to type them again.
- Spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA checks that forms are filled in by a person, not a bot.
- Order source: when you place an order, WooCommerce notes how you found the site (for example from YouTube or Google). This helps me see which videos and articles are useful.
- YouTube: embedded videos may set YouTube cookies when you play them.
I don’t use advertising cookies or trackers that follow you around the web.
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject the non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time here: Cookie preferences. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.
Below is the full list of cookies used on the site, with what each one does and how long it stays on your device. It updates automatically when something changes.
